Week 1: Burning Questions

Every week, we eagerly tune into The Bachelor to watch how our favorite televised love story will unfold, and each week, we’re left with so many questions. What the heck did that contestant say? What in the world is Sean thinking? Why did she wear that? We needed a place to air out these questions and, hopefully, find some answers. Here are three things from the premiere that left us wondering.

1. Can Lindsay rebound after her drunken wedding dress disaster?

Lindsay seems like a nice girl, but her first impression certainly didn’t impress us. She managed to get a rose from Sean, but she has some serious ground to make up in order to be a serious contender. She’s shown off her sense of humor and that she likes to have a good time, but now it’s time for her to start wooing Sean. We think she can do it, but only time will tell.

2. How far will Kacie B. go?

We were big Kacie B. fans on Ben’s season and we’re thrilled that she returned for a shot at dating Sean, but we can’t really jump on the Kacie B. bandwagon just yet. Sean looked happy to see her and intrigued about the possibility to take their relationship to another level. However, we can’t get past the fact that Sean had ample opportunity to capture Kacie’s heart before she was thrown into a cutthroat competition with dozens of other women. We’re just not sure that Kacie B. can get out of the friend zone. We predict that Sean is curious about this as well, and we guess we’ll see them on a one-on-one sooner rather than later.

3. Will the outfits get any better?

One of the best parts of The Bachelor premiere is judging the women and their cocktail attire. This batch of ladies needs some serious help in the dress department. The premiere brought tons of sparkles and prom dresses, but we’re hoping the clothes will get a little bit better as the season progresses. The upside? We can always count on Sean dressing well, even if the women dress like they stepped out of a 2008 Sears prom magazine.

The Hot Seat

Every week, we’ll pick one or two ladies who we think are in danger of getting sent home the following episode. Whether it’s because they’re causing tension in the mansion, had a night of drunken woopsies or just simply aren’t connecting with Sean, these ladies could find themselves in the Bachelor Burn Book Hot Seat … a place that would make even Regina George feel threatened.

There are so many options for the Hot Seat this week, but since you’ve twisted our arm, we’ll go ahead and pick two. We like Taryn, but we’re just not sure that she can survive another week. Since she’s not willing to make a bold move with Sean, she’s likely going to get passed up by the competition. Our prediction? The first words Taryn actually speaks to Sean are after she is eliminated, as she tearfully–and incoherently–asks him what went wrong. Okay, so maybe it won’t go down this way, but it sure would be great if it did.

Come on up, Leslie H.! Leslie (not the political consultant) seems very genuine, but she got completely lost in the shuffle at the first cocktail party. Of course, this doesn’t automatically mean you’re getting an early limo ride to the airport, but a quiet and forgettable entrance usually does more harm than good. If Leslie H. doesn’t leave a lasting impression on Sean this week, she could find herself in some very hot water.
